Day 7 · Week 1 — Learn to hear yourself
Week One Review
The nuance
The delta is the point
Today you record the same task again — same prompt, same three minutes, same camera — and score it with the same rubric. Absolute scores mean almost nothing on Day 7; the gap is the entire story of your first week.
Expect to be harder on yourself than Day 1. That is not regression — that is your ear getting better than your mouth, which is the correct order of operations.
The mechanic
- 1Re-record Day 1's prompt exactly: three minutes, one take, no planning.
- 2Score the new take on all five axes. Do not rescore the original.
- 3Play both back to back once, with a pen. Note the single biggest difference.
- 4Set one specific target for Week Two and write it down.

Retest
3:00
The Day 1 Nothing Yap. Same conditions, no warm-up.
Score
3:00
Score the retake, then compare against Day 0 and Day 1.
Name it
2:00
One sentence: what changed. One sentence: what still leaks.
Prompt bank
- Use the Day 1 prompt you already recorded.
The trap
Reading the old transcript before re-recording. That is rehearsal, and it invalidates the comparison.

The YAP Scale · score before you replay
Five axes, one to five. Honest numbers beat flattering ones.
0 / 25
Hook
Did the first three seconds make staying easier than scrolling?
Texture
Concrete objects, numbers and names — or categories and filler?
Pace
Did speed vary on purpose? Were the pauses clean and deliberate?
Presence
Energy floor, eyeline and commitment held all the way through?
Landing
Did it end on a button, or fizzle out mid-thought?
Reflection
Biggest improvement so far — and the one habit to attack next week.
